Simply Trust

May 7, 2021

	SIMPLY TRUST

If God is for us, who can be against us?
He’s always on our side

So never think to run away
There’s nothing you have to hide

Our Father loves our honesty
He loves to help us grow

He loves to give us grace and power
So in the path we’ll go

He has our interest best at heart
There’s nothing He can’t see

He’ll always lead us to the place
In truth, that sets us free

The hard thing is to trust Him
To make sure we believe

He’ll even help us in that task
As long as we receive

His perspective is far above
Anything we can see

So we are here to learn to trust
Before we have to leave

LONGING HEART – POETRY

January 11, 2019

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

You are the great I AM

Take me Lord into Your hand

Mold me into Your heart of grace

Until I look and can see Your face

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Breathing deeply, I feel You near

I will sit quietly, Your voice to hear

Waiting until the break of day

When I know what You’re saying, I will obey

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Into Your image I will be drawn

Though the process painful, the days are long

I know that You have a plan for me

To be like Your Son, my heart set free

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Oh how I think I can handle so much
When what I so need, is Your gentle touch
Seems like this life is over my head
And truly it is without what You’ve said

I need You every hour, my enemy fierce
Taking me down and bringing me tears
But You see it all and You have a plan
As I call out to You and reach for Your hand

There is a place so gentle and sweet
Where You come so near, I can feel Your heartbeat
You are my Maker, Lord above all
I belong to You and You catch my fall

No one can have that place inside me
It belongs to You, but the enemy’s coveting
They want to dethrone You as the King of my heart
Taking my mind away and from You tear apart

How foolish he is , the devil our foe
It’s You he contends with and covers our soul
When we step away and fail to stay close
The injuries come from the wounds and the blows

You catch every tear, oh Lover of our soul
And begin the work quickly to again make us whole
This life is a battle, a game for the throne
That place in our heart that You call Your own

Help us fall down at Your feet and stay there
Where we are protected and covered in Your care
Wanting to guide us and wisdom to give
Keeping us safe and helping us live

Preparing a place for us yes You are
More beautiful than imagined, that outshines the stars
But oh we must walk with You every day
It’s our only survival, to do things Your way

Gently bend down Lord, in love scoop me up
Heal all the wounds and again fill my cup
Connected again, the enemy fails
Because I’m Your child and You paid with those nails

Oh let the love flow and the stress fall away
As I realize that You Lord are always here to stay
Never apart do we have to be
You paid the price for me to be free

I love You!

In my experience and opinion…..there’s nothing like a deed done in secret that only your Creator, heavenly Father, Lord and Savior sees…..in my 37 years of having a relationship with God…..nothing has brought me closer than a secret.

“It’s a prayer in an empty room
Little things we do when nobody’s around
A hand reaching out
To a heart in doubt
It’s the smallest spark
That can light the dark”    ~Newsboys

Matthew 6:6    “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

BRING ON THE DAY – Poetry

December 3, 2016

I lift up my eyes
I can see the sky
See into tomorrow
I can see through Your eyes

You show me your friendship
You point out the lies
Keep me from deception
Guarded am I

Hiding in shelter
And out on the streets
Contradiction of terms
But in You it’s complete

Never thought
I’d make it this far
In my wildest dreams
That I’d be where You are

Flooding like rivers
Blowing away
Watching Your will come
To bring on the Day

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

THE CANDLE OF MY LIFE

October 30, 2016

In a dark and lonely room
With a fire in my heart
I close my eyes and think of You

With unquenchable hunger
I call out to You
You are the union I crave

One taste of Your love
One drink of Your soul
My quest will last forever

Though clouded by flesh
Surrounded by worldliness
Like a flower buried beneath the snow

The enemy rages to rip us apart
Moments are stolen, some slip away
But light always returns
And melts away the baracade that tries to keep us apart

And that thing deep inside
First contact never dies
It twists and turns and cries out to survive

With conquering force
Breaks down all the lies
And sets free the heart , the love and the cries

The candle inside -the Love of my life
So much more than a Savior
His essence abides

Jesus, Jesus
Love of my life
May Your heart know how I hunger for You tonight

MORE AND MORE

September 3, 2016

MORE AND MORE

I get to know you
More and more
As I walk through time
Jesus is my open door

So many things
I thought I understood
But under clouds of darkness
My thinking hard as wood

So much more
O, Lord open up
The eyes of my understanding
Fill again my empty cup

So close, so near
I feel you in my heart
Whisper away my fears
Your words hit every mark

Open, open
O, God of the universe
The kingdom of heaven
Is the place of my new birth

I feel Your love arising
Lighting up my mind
Renewing every part of me
Didn’t know I was so blind

Our light is darkness
Compared to your infinite shine
And oh great God of the universe
How can you be so kind?

Kind and good and generous
To give us all we’ve got
Share with us your character
Hide your secret plot

Hidden treasures everywhere
If we would only look
Hidden treasures come alive
Inside your very book

Off the page and on the stage
Kingdom of God on earth
Now’s the time to enter in
And find out what you’re worth

Oh the price, the price He paid
He laid it on the line
Holding nothing back for us
He passed the test of all time

No love greater will ever be
Than what Jesus did for us
For now and all eternity
He gave His life for us

More and more and more, my Lord
Pour it out on me
The presence of the Trinity
That is our destiny!

JOURNEY

November 21, 2015

A quest and journey for the brave
A deeper work inside
From One who knows and loves you too
Nothing we need to hide

Not for a shallow, casual way
For those who want much more
For those who hunger for a depth
That takes you to the core

He said that He would finish the work
That He began in us
He wants us to go willingly
Without the usual fuss

A surgical removal
Of what was done within
Whether scar tissue or trauma
He wants us free again

We have an adversary
That’s good at what he does
But Jesus can remove his work
The things that were done to us

His ways are not our ways
He so deeply longs to lead
He came to destroy the works of hell
For this purpose He did bleed

God wants us to find joy in life
He wants us to be healed
It is a work of grace to Him
If we will only yield

The first step is the honesty
Of daggers in our soul
From childhood to this present day
We all have some strongholds

He wants to heal us deep within
Something special ‘s up ahead
He wants us to be free to take
The blessings He’s prepared

It all starts with a simple prayer
Lord show me what You know
Remove all hindrance in my soul
So I’ll be free to grow

Our time is racing quickly by
The work may be intense
But trust Him, He already knows
Soon it will all make sense

Our great Physician, Counselor too
He runs the Universe
He knows what is inside of you
He’s known you since your birth

I pray you’ll take this journey too
I’m on the road as well
It has been a rewarding trip
Such treasures to unveil

I know as we submit to Him
The best is yet to come
Let’s get all that His life can give
Before we all go home

Longing

February 3, 2014

I’m longing for that intimate place

In the land of shallow souls

Seems no one wants to seek Your face

Or the words from days of old

So few want the treasures there

Just live from day to day

Avoiding anything with depth

Deaf to what you say

I’m longing for that intimate place

Sweetest place I know

No one else can fill that gap

From You all love can flow

I’m longing for that intimate place

I lift my eyes to You

Enraptured by Your glorious face

Until this life is through
