It is not in me. (Job 28: 14)

I remember saying one summer, “What I really need is a trip to the ocean.” So I went to the beach, but the ocean seemed to say, “It is not in me!” The ocean did not do for me what I thought it would. Then I said, “Perhaps the mountains will provide the rest I need.” I went to the mountains, and when I awoke the first morning, I gazed at the magnificent mountain I had so longed to see. But the sight did not satisfy, and the mountain said, “It is not in me!”

What I really needed was the deep ocean of God’s love, and the high mountains of His truth within me. His wisdom had depths and heights that neither the ocean nor the mountains could contain and that could not be compared with jewels, gold, or precious stones. Christ is wisdom and He is our deepest need. Our inner restlessness can only be pacified by the revelation of His eternal friendship and love for us.

Matthew 11:28
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

REFRSHING RAIN

God, He loves you so very much

He wants you to come to Him

So He can fill your cup

The cup of your soul cannot be satisfied

Only in the spirit where His love for you abides

No longer chase the earthly things

For what cannot be attained

Only In our Father can come refreshing rain.

MY COCOON – Poetry

April 5, 2017

You are my cocoon
No matter what’s around
You are wrapped about me
Your presence peace surrounds

Loud the voices shouting
Wanting us to fear
But our place is next to you
Always drawing near

Focused on Your majesty
Your kingdom it will come
No matter what happens here and now
My thoughts are on Your throne

But sometimes I’m a weakling
It’s then my heart does know
I reach out my hand to You
Instead You help me grow

Crazy things may happen
But the end of it You’ve told
We can trust what’s in Your book
You’ve known from times of old

You are my cocoon
No matter what’s around
I know that I can trust You
Your love for me is sound

Spiritual Earthquake

February 10, 2017

Sometimes we all need an “earthquake” to shake up and out of us what God needs to go….and it’s a good, good thing! Just stay in His arms and trust Him!  What remains will be of great value!

Hebrews 12:26-27
At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.”

Empty, empty your heart of it’s pain
Let the tears fall down like rain
They are a tool so long ago
Created with knowledge of how things would go

Again, you will shine like summer’s day
Your heart will light up, your smile like a ray
As your heart returns to where it belongs
To God’s arms alone where in Him there’s no harm

Come again, come again I’ll take you away
Again, we shall experience a brand new day
You know what that means, Yet this time a new
Cherished so rightly from a place made for you

I am yours and you are mine
We will be together til the end of time
Always there for you in our hiding place
That we have built while running this race

Come to me, come to me quickly you’ll see
How sadness eclipsed by life’s melody
You will sing greatly, your voice has it’s might
No longer to dwell in mistakes dark, dark night

Need a Spiritual Infusion?

February 6, 2017

HERO…..TURN IT UP LOUD!!!!

I need something from heaven
A touch, a whisper, a sign
I know that faith believes unseen
But sometimes I find myself blind

Emotions they go on a roller coaster ride
That is not how You are
Every word you said is solid rock
An anchor and bright as a star

But You are so kind when my soul is weak
And the storm clouds are pounding hard
You reach out to me in a glorious way
To remind me that I’m in You’re heart

If I lift up my eyes
You will be there in ways that may be unseen
As I cry out and wait, You never fail
The mysteries are there to believe

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

February 3, 2017

From Rabbi Johnathan Cahn~

The Little Red Riding Hood Deception

“One of the first stories I ever learned was Little Red Riding Hood. She encounters a wolf posing as her grandmother. After a short talk with the wolf, she begins to suspect something’s amiss. She calls in some hunters and they kill the wolf. There’s a biblical principle in this story. Messiah Yeshua, Jesus spoke of wolves, He spoke of the enemy as wolves. He spoke of wolves in sheep’s clothing. The principle here is, evil never comes as evil. It always disguises itself as good. No temptation comes to you in its actual form. It doesn’t show you all the ugliness that it’s going to do with the big teeth it has. It comes to you as a grandmother with a bonnet on. It seems harmless and good, but remember, whenever you’re being tempted, behind that bonnet there’s a wolf wanting to devour your walk, your family, and everything in your life. Don’t give it any room, don’t approach it, don’t engage it, just get out of the room. Call the hunters and be done with it. When temptation comes, resist and don’t engage in conversation with the enemy today. Call on the name of the Lord”.

Overcome – Poetry

January 2, 2017

Overcome the obstacles
Sweep the dust off the rug
We must keep pressing forward
By the power of His blood

So easy to lay down
But you’re important don’t you know
God made you as you are
And you have something to show

Continue as a Lighthouse
Sitting high upon a hill
Giving warning to the ships
That are speeding towards such peril

Time is such a precious thing
Not something we can waste
Can’t lick our wounds forever
Get up now and set the pace

Jump into the river
There’s surprises ‘round the bend
You’ll be glad you kept on moving
As the Light opens again

Silver and gold
Have I none
But words I give to you
In hopes that they may fill your soul
Lift you from the blues

In hopes that something
Said in there
Meets a need you have
To know that someone truly cares
And makes your heart feel glad

This world can be
A lonely place
Seasons come and go
The eyes of God are watching you
And of your plight He knows

So take these words
As sent to you
From God our Father’s love
He truly has His mind on you
These words are love’s peace dove

So close your eyes
Breathe in, breathe out
Feel His presence now
Embrace this little gift to you
And say a prayer out loud

He’s eager and He’s waiting
To enter in your heart
And lift the heavy burdens there
To give you a new start

Take a simple leap of faith
Say a prayer out loud
You’ll never know what’s waiting there
Til faith unveils that shroud

Don’t have to be religious
That’s not what it’s about
To get to know Creator
Let His light come out

Take a simple leap of faith
What have you got to lose?
He’s standing here with open arms
Hoping you will choose

Dear friend I send my love to you
Point to the Father’s hand
He’s your greatest advocate
In this life’s curious land.

The Beauty In The Struggle

December 16, 2016

Why, oh why Lord
Do we struggle so?
I asked Him one day
When I was feeling quite low

His answer surprised me
As He said with a smile
Come and I’ll tell you child,
Sit with me awhile

Look at the caterpillar crawling about
It goes into hiding before it comes out
It makes a cocoon as I’ve taught it to do
And waits until spring when formation is through

Now when it is ready
It struggles about
To get free from it’s prison
To finally come out

It’s there in the struggle
It’s wings find their strength
It would not be ready
This process it brings

Brings about forming
All of it’s parts
Like muscles get stronger
With the beating of the heart

If the process was shortened
On the ground it would lie
Free from it’s prison
Yet there it would die

The wings must be ready
To catch on the breeze
Strengthened by struggle
And now that it’s free

Flying in beauty
Above all the earth
Fulfilling it’s purpose
It’s reason for birth

So it is with my children
They’re growing inside
Their struggle for freedom
Prepares them to fly

So don’t be discouraged
You will overcome
Despise not the small things
My will’s being done

Trust me in all things
My leading is right
I know what you need child
So you can take flight
