So this morning I got up and life started very peacefully.  I finished listening to a teaching on youtube I had started the day before and planned to move into a quiet devotional time with the Lord.

Then the hurricane (or Ed as I like to call him)  came in the room.  He had lost his wallet and was supposed to go fishing with a friend.  He had to cancel the trip which actually I was relishing the thought of a nice quiet house to get some things done and study , so I was bummed.  As we looked and looked with no luck finding the wallet – I began to worry.  I guess a better word is “fret”.  Thinking of all the things, like working tomorrow, that he would not be able to do.  Then remembering how my wallet got stolen last year my “fret” level rose again.  Canceling credit cards, getting a new license, waiting for a new debit card….  What a pain in the derrier!   So I started getting his stuff together he would need to get a new driver’s license today.  His birth certificate was not where it should be and my frustration was…..well ….let’s just say I’m sure my blood pressure went up.  Haha

So as my husband went out the door to attend to all this stuff, I felt a little bad and frustrated at myself for letting my emotions escalate like I did over something I should have trusted the Lord on and kept calm.  I returned to my “devotion” spot and picked up Streams in the Desert, looking for todays date for the reading.  I opened it and laughed out loud when I saw it and said, “Okay Lord, I get it!!”  The scripture for the day was simply:   “FRET NOT”  Psalm 37:1  In case I missed the gentle dealings of the Holy Spirit – here was the command.

Most of us do this if indeed you are human.  Some of us were raised around it and it has become the fabric of the background noise in our mind.  That’s hard to break, but recognizing it is half the battle.

What do we do?  You say?  The right question is “What does God tell us to do and how to handle it?”  First off – don’t feel condemned!  Jesus often told his disciples “fear not”.   So we are in good company.  God also tells us in  John 8:31-32:   To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Hold to His teaching and know the truth.  Those are both statements that require something.  The action of getting into His word and knowing it.  But the reward?  FREEDOM   Especially from the lies the devil implants in us to keep us from the goodness of God.

So what do I do instead of “fret”?   Here are a few scriptures that are good to commit to memory.

1 Peter 5:6-8

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,  casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Humbly acknowledge that God is big enough to help you and cast your care on Him by praying and asking for that help.  Remember that one of the Holy Spirit’s name is “HELPER”  so I don’t think He minds and in light of the fact He is called that – I think He really wants to help us if we will just ask.

Philippians 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

So next time you (and I)  catch ourselves spinning around a problem – Remember that God doesn’t want us getting ulcers.  Give the problem to Him.  Invite Him in.  Let Him lift the load so you at least don’t feel alone!!!  Sure you may have to do some things to work through the issues.  But it doesn’t have to be with anxiety, fear and frustration.  Hey – I have not arrived – but God has put me on the right path – His ways.  Which I think are helpful to all of us.   Have a great day.  Shalom  (peace)

John 3:3-8 “ Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Notice Jesus words…what is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of Spirit is spirit. You have already been born of flesh. It is your spirit that needs to be born again.

Ezekiel 36:26-27
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 “ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ…”

The Bible tells us that we need to be born again. Then He explains why…

Romans 3:23 “… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

Romans 6:23 “ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We are all born in the image of God. (Genesis) But when Adam and Eve fell and succumbed to satan’s temptation, they yielded their authority to him and spiritual death took place. The perfect garden and life God planned got messed up. But immediately God had a solution to undo the damage that was done, but it was costly to Him. The price was to send His Son as a perfect sacrifice to bring us back into a “born again” state if we would believe and accept what Jesus did for us on the cross.

Romans 10:9-10 “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:13 “ For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

What God has done is a free gift and cannot be earned.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

So we see that:

1. We must be born again.
2. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
3. Salvation is a free gift purchased by the work of Jesus Christ
4. Invite Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and repent of your sins

Prayer is simply talking to God. He is listening. All the time. And He eagerly awaits for you to call on Him. When you do and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior and to forgive you for your sins –  you enter into a relationship with Him and you are born again. You may not feel it immediately because it happens in your spirit. The core of your being. But as you continue to seek Him. Read His Words.  Pray/ talk to Him and listen. You will begin to grow.

We are a spirit. With a soul (which is our mind, will, and emotions), and we live in a body. You have now begun an exciting journey to know the Lord and to discover what your purpose in life is. What did He have in mind when He made you? There is nothing more fulfilling than to know God and to know your destiny.

You are now a child of God if you accepted Him and prayed that prayer.  Your name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life!  (Revelation 21:27) You are a part of His eternal family forever.  So press in to know Him.  All you do here will echo into eternity.  You are here for a reason and a purpose.

Read your Bible daily.  It is the Bread of Life and has answers about the kingdom of God. Seek it like treasure. Life following after Christ is far from boring as you will find in all of my free videos.  ( Youtube Channel – Passing The Torch – with Jean Chamblee )   They are there to help you learn and grow in spiritual things.

Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Hebrews 13:5   “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all on your side!  Romans 8:31  “If God is for us, who can be against us?”   He is right there with you.

God bless you on your journey!  Life in Christ is awesome!  You were born on purpose. You have a destiny!  You are precious to God and worth the price that He paid. He decided a long time ago that you were worth it!  You are valued in His sight more than you know.

Blessings on your journey,     Jean

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

September 22, 2016

James 1:2 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials. knowing the the testing of your faith produces patience.

We’ve most likely read this dozens of times and marveled at how James could ask us to count trials a “joyful” thing. I have always read that and said to myself “that’s deep, and I’m not even close to that level of maturity” and ha ha….I still say that! But I found something interesting this morning as I read this. I stopped and looked up the word “patience” in the Greek (which the new testament was translated from) It is the word “hupomone” which means “an abiding under”! Wow!! that totally changed it for me!!

Follow this thought…. our trials drive us to “abide under” . To run to God and seek Him out in a closer and deeper way. In light of that….trials produce really good fruit. As we continue to follow James line of thought….. 1:4 “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing!”

I don’t know about you…..but I would love to be made complete and lack nothing in the sight of God. Am I asking for trials?? NOOO!!! But…I know they will come to me and to all of us. We are meant to grow to maturity as human beings and as spiritual beings….the children of God.

James, as our older brother in Christ and a man approved of God has given us some pretty awesome wisdom. Actually if you follow his next thought he encourages us to ask for wisdom from God in faith….. an interesting thought to follow what he just said. I think when we get into trials….we NEED God’s wisdom to understand and navigate them in a way that pleases God.

At any rate…..trials will come…..to take James advice and at least try to “count it all joy” looking past the immediate trial and seeing a beautiful fruit that will be gained if we do it God’s way will help us in this life. Patience and endurance….beautiful fruit in God’s eyes. May God help us to “abide under” Him at all times, but especially as we traverse difficult times. Amen!

WHEN HEAVEN INVADES EARTH

August 17, 2016

WHEN HEAVEN INVADES EARTH
Just had to give this testimony! So many in the body of Christ have ceased to press in to the things of God and the fire of God is falling again and He is ready and waiting for us to press in!! I will give you an example. Ed and I went to a “Heaven on Earth” conference (nothing “magic” about the conference….just a group truly seeking the face of God) and we spent time praying for hours before we got there on the drive up, hearing preaching and then hours in worship and in prayer at the alter with other believers. We were filled with His Presence and surrounded by God’s glory. HIS glory…..nothing of man.
Then on the drive home we stopped at a rest stop for a bathroom break. And I kid you not……this 20 year old walks up to me and says they don’t have enough gas money to get home and could I help out……DIVINE APPOINTMENT….I just smiled and said “Come to my car”. We started talking about the conference and God and his eyes were wide open and excited! I handed him a $20 and gave him a book and some Christian music CD’s and the Spirit of God was just exploding in that little parking lot…..mind you there were 4 other young people in the car watching all this. Then…..right then. A car pulls up beside ours and the guy rolled down the window and said “Mam…..I’m so embarrassed to ask this….but I’m almost out of gas….!!! Hallelujah!! God Himself was just bringing them to us!!!! So we pulled out some more cash and started telling him about God, the conference, and gave him a salvation tract and Christian music CD’s and I could just feel that glory that was present at the alter…..present in the parking lot and that God had hand picked these people to experience the Living God!!!
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we will see some of them in heaven because of Jesus Christ invading their lives!!! And we get to be a part of all that if we will lay down the things of this world and seek and hunger for God above all else. This is the hour…….this is the day. God is NO respecter of persons……He does not show favoritism ……what He does for one He will do for another. Are you willing to pay the price? To press in to God and experience heaven on earth!!! We were created to be “Living in the Book Of Acts”!! Oh how I pray that we will not miss it! It will not come again….I truly believe we are entering into the last great harvest before the great and terrible Day of the Lord. I pray that you will hunger and thirst for a relationship with JESUS CHRIST like you have never experienced before!! HE LOVES YOU WITH A PASSION THAT CAN ONLY BE UNDERSTOOD BY EXPERIENCING IT! By pressing in to Him. By getting alone with Him. By hungering and thirsting after Him above all else!! There is a love deeper and more fulfilling than you could have ever imagined!!! He is waiting for you……to love you! TO LOVE YOU!!! You are His unique and precious creation…..there is only one you…..and He wants you! He wants to love you! He wants to take you deeper in relationship with Him. Will you let HIM? He is waiting….. One step at a time. I pray you will take just one step closer to Him today…..one conversation…..one prayer……one block of time you give just to HIM. He died for you and He is worthy. Go for it…..don’t worry about tomorrow. You don’t have to live up to anyones expectations or be like anyone else. Let Him make you who YOU were created to be. We ALL are pieces of the puzzle…..the body. Different and so totally a creative work of God…. He loves YOU!!!! Wants YOU!! Passionately desires your love and your fellowship. See how great a price He paid to demonstrate His love…… I pray with all my heart you will take a step closer to Him today!
Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.”
…..heaven is not something you have to wait for….heaven is in Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God.

Seldom taught insight into God…..check it out!!  You are immensely loved by God!!!!

AWAKEN

July 20, 2016

It’s time to prepare beloved of God. It’s time to prepare yourselves for the days ahead. It’s time to train your spirit, soul, and body to be surrendered to God. It’s time to take a deeper step into obedience in everyday life. It’s time to be led by the Holy Spirit in all things. It’s time to wake up and say to the Lord….”what do you want me to do today” or get quiet and listen to see what He will say to you.

Romans 8:14 “ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”

It’s time to be spirit ruled and not flesh ruled.

Romans 8:13, “ For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”

It’s time to surrender all and return to our first love, beloved remnant of God. It’s time to fast and pray and get so close to Jesus that He once again becomes our all in all as He was in the beginning.

Revelation 2:4-7 “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’

It’s a painful journey, if you are like me. I thought I was fine! Then the Lord said to me “You have an idol”. I was floored! “What!! I love you Lord…how could I have an idol?” He quickly said….”You have your children as an idol in your heart.” As soon as He said it, I knew. I had been mourning a tragedy that happened to my daughter. It occupied my thoughts night and day! And I was truly unaware of how much of my thought life was about that. I quickly surrendered it to the Lord and began a journey to find out what else I was blind to! And He graciously has taken my hand and is leading me into a place back to my first love and works and preparing me for beyond.

If you have had a calling on your life or suspect you do. Do not give up hope just because the country is falling apart and the hour is late. Dust off your hopes that God is great enough to complete that which He began in you long ago….or maybe recently for some.

Phillipians 1:6 “ being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”

Go Deeper Beloved of God…..Go Deeper    (October 23, 2015 –  endtimeprophesy.wordpress.com)

I will leave you with this poem. Blessings! Have a wonderful day!

AWAKEN THE SEEKER

Deeper and deeper and deeper we go

So many mysteries

We must continue to grow

Digging beneath what seems to be real

We search out to discover

What’s under the seal

If life ever seems to stagnate and plateau

Go back to the mystery

Think of all you don’t know

There’s a joy in the seeking, a hunger in our souls

We are made to keep drinking

To fill up that hole

Let not monotony darken your heart

There’s a mystery awaiting

You just have to start

Never too old, never too late

To awaken the seeker

To finish God’s mandate
