LONGING HEART – POETRY

January 11, 2019

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

You are the great I AM

Take me Lord into Your hand

Mold me into Your heart of grace

Until I look and can see Your face

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Breathing deeply, I feel You near

I will sit quietly, Your voice to hear

Waiting until the break of day

When I know what You’re saying, I will obey

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Into Your image I will be drawn

Though the process painful, the days are long

I know that You have a plan for me

To be like Your Son, my heart set free

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

A.D.H.D. Society – Poetry

December 2, 2016

Why is it hard to simply sit still
To take a little time to rest?
We are driven by what?
That mystery force
That says we must do our best

Is that all it is?
This life I mean
How much can we produce?
The days slip away
And then they are gone
Did we really get what life is worth?

A little girls smile
A tear for awhile
Making a mud pie in the dirt
Did we miss all those things
And not realize
Their value and what they were worth

Get militant I say
Harness the day
Don’t let society rule your world
Cause when it’s all done
And the race is won
Spent wisely I hope you will say

AWAITING WINTER

October 30, 2016

Snowflakes falling
Silent sounds
Gentle softness
Hits the ground

Quietly
The world becomes
As the blanket
Covers homes

White so clean
We can forget
In that moment
No regrets

Hanging like suspended time
Snowflakes bring a special mind
Times of childhood sledding round
Adult worries can’t be found

Falling like a gift of love
Moments gentle like a dove
Glistening in the sun’s bright light
No more fears the dark of night

Snowflakes like renewing rain
Bring their own refreshing gain
Each one falls unique in time
Like a heavenly artistic rhyme

Snowflakes falling
Silent sounds
Can’t wait ’til winter
Comes around
