How do I know when God is talking to me?

If we belong to the Lord, He wants us to communicate with Him and the Bible is full of examples of how God communicates with His children.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the spirit of God, these are the sons of God.

THE WORD The written word is the primary way God speaks to us and it is the measure for every other way as well. All communication with God will match His word.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. You cannot separate Jesus and His word.


STILL SMALL VOICE 1 kings 19:12 Elijah – after the fire a still small voice.

INWARD WITNESS Romans 8:16 “The Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God”

INSPIRED THOUGHTS 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration…..” (God breathed thoughts)

OTHER PEOPLE Galatians 4:14
“And my trial which was in my flesh you did not despise or reject, but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.”
Visions and Dreams Acts 2:17 “ And it shall come to pass in the last days, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh, your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.‘ Countless times God spoke to people in visions and dreams……Joseph, Daniel, Mary, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, John etc.

Prayer is simply talking to God. Then wait and listen! He may have something to say back or bring to your mind.

Again ALL things that truly come from God Will line up with His word and His character.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
