Experiencing God – yes you can!

So I have been thinking about you all that visit here on this WordPress site. I also am going to step up my prayers for you. Why? Because I know that you are called and appointed by God and destined to be here at this time in history. Yes, you!!! That is one of my all time favorite attributes of God. He shows favor to anyone He wants. Our acceptance by God is through us accepting what His Son came and did for us. Jesus makes us worthy to be in the kingdom of God – not our works – our belief.

Anyway – I want to help you if I can. I have been on a 40 year journey and have seen many miracles and encountered so much of the miraculous presence of God. I want you to open up an HOPE. That God wants to reveal Himself to you in some of the same ways He did in my life. The Bible says He is “no respecter of persons”. If you seek Him like I did you WILL get results far above what you could expect.

I pray you will read this little excerpt from my story and realize God has assignments for you too. I want to set this before you so you will know that God wants to do for this generation as He has done in the Book of Acts. Here is a modern day story from my little life that shows – God will show up for those who seek Him and desire to obey Him. So here it is:

ANGEL AT THE TIME CLOCK

Now I fully believed that we have angels working with us.  I had just never seen one with wings on the earth, until that day…

I went to work in the small little town of Greenville, North Carolina.  I worked at a place called S. & S. Cafeteria and it was located in the towns only mall. I drove the ten or fifteen miles to work with the radio on trying to get ready for another mundane day.  I arrived on time and began walking down the hallway towards the time clock to punch in. 

Out of the blue, for a moment,  my eyes were opened to the unseen realm.  The spirit realm.  Lo and behold right before my eyes, standing beside the time clock, was a beautiful giant angel.  He was tall, maybe ten feet or more,  and glistened like gold.  He had wings that reached to the ceiling and was so majestic looking.  It was not a frightening experience, but it startled me because it was so unexpected.  Then quickly, the vision closed, but I knew he was still there. I was aware of what the Bible teaches about the gifts of the Holy Spirit located in chapter 12 of the book of 1 Corinthians.  That at times when the Holy Spirit desires to, He can open your eyes so that you can see what is in the spirit realm, it’s called “discerning of spirits”,  and that is what I had experienced.

All day long I wondered what the Angel was there for.  Was he there to prevent an accident?  A robbery?  My mind danced around like crazy with curiosity!  Finally, I took my lunch break and sat down at the table with my Bible.  As I was eating and reading, a young man came and sat down abruptly across from me and looked me square in the eye.  He said, “I heard you were a Christian”  I said, “Yes I am.”

He excitedly said, “What must I do to get saved?”   Well, here it was!  I knew the Angel was there to see to it that this event took place.  There is no greater miracle than the new birth, to become what the Bible calls “born again”.   When someone accepts Christ and has their name written in the Book of Life.  After showing him some scripture and briefly explaining salvation, I prayed with the young man at the table to receive Jesus as his Lord.   I also asked him to meet me after work to talk about the baptism in the Holy Spirit which he was excited to do! I figured he needed the whole package!

The young man did meet me in the parking lot after work and received the baptism.  It was incredible.  I felt like I was living in the Book of Acts!  The Holy Spirit descended on him and he was filled with God’s presence and spoke in tongues right there in the parking lot!  Never think God is limited to a church for a holy experience to take place!  The whole earth is filled with His glory!

  I knew that this had been a divine appointment. A special one because God allowed me to see the presence of the Angel, although they are surrounding us in the spirit realm all the time, especially if we are believers.  This man’s life was now transformed.  I don’t remember his name, but I saw him a year or so later and he said he was going to Bible school to be a minister. He wanted to be a Pastor.  I knew God was taking good care of him and it was a blessing to have been allowed to take part in his journey.

How cool to think of the angels involvement in our lives.  All going on around us in the unseen realm!  They are around you too!  The more we pray and walk in faith….the more they are activated around us!

Hebrews 13:2  “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11   “ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,  to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Awesome miraculous

HE WHISPERS

So today is an especially sweet day. I woke up this morning hearing in my head the phrase “I love you to the moon and back”. I wondered if that thought could have been from God? Would He use a common human phrase to communicate with me? And for Him the moon is not very far or big. Haha

Just waking up I wasn’t thinking with my spirit but was just in my head!! So I dismissed it without much thought. Then later I finally got around to doing something the Lord had asked me to do, and that was to mail my book to an old friend. I had been putting it off because I couldn’t find an envelope, but the Lord patiently waited. I put the dollar stamps on it which were in the shape of a moon and proceeded to the mailbox. I knew God was happy about my obeying Him and following through on this. Then I looked up and on the mailbox was a beautiful bluebird. I thought to myself “bluebird of happiness”,which was a phrase I had heard in a movie. Then it dawned on me that God had put the bluebird there as a sign to me that I was making Him happy by doing what He had asked.

Then quickly in my minds eye or spirits eye to be more accurate; I saw a visual of the Father picking me up and joyfully swinging me around in His arms like a little girl. Wow. I was really having a divine encounter all morning and it was so subtle I could have missed it, but thankful I didn’t. I knew God was communicating. Then I walked back in the house and picked up the stamps. The stamps were a picture of the moon! To the moon and back!! Right in my face. I love you to the moon and back! Then again, I looked out the kitchen window and the bluebird was sitting on the wire in the 20 plus wind gusts we’re having today and holding on as if to wait for me to see it, then it jumped off.

Wow again. I could have missed this all. It started with a subtle “I love you to the moon and back” thought as I woke up. How amazing is God!!! He truly does communicate with us . Are we listening? Do we miss the thoughts He sends our way? Are we awake enough to recognize Him. We certainly can be and He will help us if we ask! He has so much joy in us. We make Him happy! You make Him happy! He made you and has a dream for your life. I hope this inspires you to actively “listen” with your spiritual eyes and ears as well as the other. He whispers, but He is full of love for you. Receive it! Hope you have an awesome day!

LIKE IT OR NOT WE ARE ALL SPIRIT BEINGS – Article

I was talking to my husband this morning and we were marveling at several things that happened in our childhood. We were both the “babies” of the family and our births both came with the threat of failure and death. Both of our mothers had to stay in bed for six months to get us here. Both of our mothers had had multiple miscarriages. I think it was with much prayer and sacrifice that either of us made it here at all.

Indeed, both of my own children were almost lost as well. The enemy seemed to be working hard. My son had severe jaundice and a strange bruising over where his liver was. The pediatrician never told me he didn’t expect my son to live! In hind sight, I guess he saved me the trauma and fear of that. We were praying parents, and he was born at the City of Faith Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma….so we asked people to be praying and God heard our prayers and his liver started to function after 3 very stressful days.

With my daughter….I began to bleed at two months and my doctor told me to lay down, that these things happen. He fully believed I was miscarrying my baby. Until I had a conversation with God. He told me that she would be a blessing to me and to fight and pray. So I called a prayer partner, a lady that had almost lost her own children in the same way prayed down heaven to earth and almost immediately the bleeding stopped and I had a normal pregnancy and child.

I truly believe that most of us have these kinds of experiences. Miracles that are not publicly acknowledged or believed. We may even write them off as coincidences. But, we are spiritual beings and are created from a spiritual God. John 4:24 says: “God is spirit and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

I also think it goes much deeper than that! I think we all have spiritual experiences that just don’t get talked about! We tend not to talk about things that can’t be naturally explained. I remember going to work at a department store in my early 20’s and talking about God to my co-workers. I had experienced many supernatural events in my life and was not shy about sharing them. In turn, these two girls opened up about their own experiences that they had never told a single soul about and I marveled. One girl even had an out of body experience and it was awesome, but she had been afraid to tell anyone for fear of being rejected or ridiculed. It was so freeing for both of them to finally have a listening ear that they knew not only understood, but encouraged them! I think it is important for us all to acknowledge that we are spirit beings! We are spirits that live in a body and have a soul (mind, will, emotions). We are three part beings just as the Bible teaches:
1 Thessalonians 5:23
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

But most of us won’t acknowledge the spiritual nature of our existence, in part because we don’t know it’s normal. In the western world for some reason, spiritual things are downplayed to our own detriment. Other countries have no problem at all believing in the spirit realm. People practice witchcraft and voodoo openly and they see the results. It is also in these areas that miracles from God seem to be received more easily. In many ways the “poor” of the world are actually richer in understanding of these things than we are here in the west. Simply because they “get” that there is a spirit realm.

This relegates us to an unfulfilling life in many ways if we shut down that part of our existence. Knowing what the Bible says truly takes away all of the fear about these things. If you just read the New Testament through and notice how often it talks about the “spiritual” part of life, it will normalize it for you and open up a richer and more fulfilling understanding of our existence and why we are here.

I encourage you first read the Bible and then find someone to share your experience with. A safe person. If you have no one then please feel free to share your story with me anonymously. It will do you good and I promise not to put you down in any way. If it is a dark experience…I will give you some scriptures to help you understand what is going on….and if an experience from God, I can support your experience. I am a Bible teacher…and an experienced spiritual Christian. At any rate….I hope this will open you up to your spiritual self and the spirituality of God and our universe. If you hide what has been given to you and don’t explore it, then that part of who you are will not grow. But just do it in the safety of God’s Word. There’s a lot more to you than you even know.

For example…..after my father died….a man came to the house and shared a story with me that I had never heard. My dad was a lawyer and very left brained and logical, so I had no clue that he even thought about spiritual things. He never talked about that kind of stuff. But basically, this friend of his had gotten into a heartbreaking experience and was planning on committing suicide. He called our house and talked to mom and asked them to pray for him but did not reveal his plans. My mom did not feel right in her heart/spirit about it and as soon as my dad walked in the door, she sent him to go find their friend.

My dad drove quickly to his house, but his kids said that he just left in the car. My dad asked which way he went but the kids did not know. So he said a quick prayer “God help me find him” and set out turning the car as he felt “led” to do so. When he got to the freeway entrance he said a “supernatual hand” took control of the wheel and pulled it right onto the entrance ramp. My dad was startled, but kept driving and sure enough he saw this man’s car on the freeway. He pulled up next to him and motioned for him to stop and he did. The man broke down in tears as he told my dad he was on the way to drive his car into a lake in a place he had picked out and was going to drown himself. He was minutes away from doing it.

God had supernaturally taken the wheel and led my dad to save his friends life. I think maybe “false humility” or something kept my dad from sharing it and that was wrong!! People need to hear these types of stories because it glorifies God and builds peoples faith. I needed to hear that my dad was a spiritual man too!! I felt pretty robbed of something beautiful because I only heard this after his death! I would love to have talked to him about it. Maybe that is why America seems to be more deficient of miracles than other countries. We lack the courage to tell of the supernatural things that take place in life. This definitely needs to change!

What about dark things and demons? Well that needs to be dealt with too or it can have a grip on you for life and it doesn’t need to!

Jesus said: Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

We can’t even begin to walk in that authority until we first admit the spirit realm exists. Trust me….Jesus has got this all covered in His word if you will take the time to read it and ask Him to show it to you! It’s all there in black and white…He’s not hiding it from us. But He does expect us to seek and find!

So I encourage all of us to take the journey! Don’t hide what you have experienced, but grow safely with God in these areas. You are an eternal spirit being whether you like it or not. Why not just accept it and become strong in spirit and nurture that part of who you are. With God. Stay away from anything that is not Biblical. Let God protect you….but don’t run away from these things! Seek for the “Holy Spirit” to indwell you!!

Luke 11:9-13  “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.  If a son asks for bread[d] from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?  Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Anyway….I hope this has inspired you to take a look at your life a little differently and to pursue the spiritual side of the scriptures and of all human life! It’s a journey that is worth your time and energy and you will not regret it! I think we all hunger in our souls to know more about God in this way. God is a spirit and we need to know Him more like this in a personal way. It’s there….we just need to be honest and unafraid to search and acknowledge it!

Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”
