Sometimes you just never know when God is gonna just break out somewhere.  You’ve been there – when you suddenly feel God is in the place.

Well I was sitting in a small room with about 10 other people at the cardiologist office waiting for a stress test. (to see if the ticker is working right)

Not something I looked forward to and besides that why in the world did they say it would take four hours. And what’s with the “nuclear” part of the test?

I was  uneasy in the way that you are when there are a lot of unknowns.  I noticed that most everyone was looking at their phones or magazine with only minimal conversation between people and the ones that came with them.   Then I asked a lady what the test was like.  She was older, but I could tell she brightened up at the opportunity to share some wisdom.  She walked me through it and a few others chimed in with their additions to the knowledge I was getting.  It was sweet!

All of the sudden, everyone in the room started talking to others.  At times the whole room was participating in one group conversation.  A far cry from the isolationist feel it had when I walked in.  I could feel the Holy Spirit moving.  I love it when He shows up outside of church and does a suddenly.

One of the ladies began to share her heart about having had several heart attacks and possibly cancer.  The weight and burden on her face made me want to cry.  I knew that God wanted to lift her burden, especially her.

So most of the room cleared out and I began to tell her of my near death experience as a teenager.  I saw heaven and was describing what I saw.  I could see a familiar peace come on her.  I knew that she already knew the Lord, but she leaned in towards me as if to soak up the words of truth.  A reminder of what she already knew in part.  I pulled out a Closer cd that I had made a decade ago and gave it to her and she was excited.  Her countenance changed and her mother began to talk about a revival she had been to in her past.  It was an easy conversation, and you could almost see how much lighter the room was as well as these “family” members in the body of Christ.  I got called out for the test and wish I could have prayed with her – but she got something better I think. She remembered to Whom she belonged.

I don’t know.  I just love when that happens.  I know prayer helps them happen – but sometimes God just busts out!!!  I can’t wait till the next time and I think I will ask for more!  How about you!?

LONGING HEART – POETRY

January 11, 2019

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

You are the great I AM

Take me Lord into Your hand

Mold me into Your heart of grace

Until I look and can see Your face

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Breathing deeply, I feel You near

I will sit quietly, Your voice to hear

Waiting until the break of day

When I know what You’re saying, I will obey

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Into Your image I will be drawn

Though the process painful, the days are long

I know that You have a plan for me

To be like Your Son, my heart set free

You are my bread, my life, my song

With you alone, does my heart belong

Deep within me calls to deep

Draw me close Lord, Your heart to meet

Transitions.  Usually they are never easy.  Even in childbirth the “transition”  part is the hardest, but when it is over something “new” is born.  Many people I know are in a transition period in life.  Where things can change rapidly.  It can get unnerving or down right scary.  But we can alway trust that God never leaves us nor forsakes His children; though you may not see Him at work right now. He is.  This is where we take a deep breath and trust.

In 1980, the year I really surrendered my life to God, was a HUGE transition.  The whole trajectory of my life changed and I did not have a blueprint!  I was thrilled with a fresh and living relationship with the Lord, but so much was changing.

One day I was standing by the Tar River in the Town Commons park.  I was looking at the water and observing a stick floating along with the current.  As I watched it, I heard the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart.  “One day you will be like that in my hands, flowing, not fighting the current or trying to go your own way, but trusting Me.”   That  sounded awesome.  I certainly wanted that.

Many years later I wrote a song called  “Be Like Water”  to remember the lesson.  It’s a fun little song and I hope you have a minute to listen and let the Holy Spirit speak into your life about what area you need to trust Him and just “let it flow, let it go.”  He is faithful and loves you so much!

May we trust Him in this season without a blueprint.  And know that He is the river that will carry us!    Blessings!   Hope you have a great day!

IN MY DREAMS – Poetry

January 12, 2017

In my dreams
I hear You call
I see the writing
On the wall

Mysteries
Unfold to me
Showing me
What soon will be

Sometimes stories
Of my past
Explains things that
I could not grasp

Forward, backward
All between
You talk to me Lord
In my dreams

Showing me
Just how You feel
Bringing forth
Some things so real

Until I know You
I can’t see
Your loving kindness
Good thoughts towards me

You are my Father
Love so deep
Denied in life
But meant to be

Pour out Your Spirit
In this hour
So hungry hearts
Can know Your power

Intimacy
With God complete
As we humble
At Your feet

Pure hearts cry
Will sure be met
Promises
Will still be kept

Just like Joseph
In the prison groaned
God had a plan
To soon be shown

Hold on now
The hour is here
Things unknown
Will soon be clear

Rain from heaven
Holy fire
Will soon burn up
All vain desire

Return again
To your first love
Feel His closeness
From above

THE CANDLE OF MY LIFE

October 30, 2016

In a dark and lonely room
With a fire in my heart
I close my eyes and think of You

With unquenchable hunger
I call out to You
You are the union I crave

One taste of Your love
One drink of Your soul
My quest will last forever

Though clouded by flesh
Surrounded by worldliness
Like a flower buried beneath the snow

The enemy rages to rip us apart
Moments are stolen, some slip away
But light always returns
And melts away the baracade that tries to keep us apart

And that thing deep inside
First contact never dies
It twists and turns and cries out to survive

With conquering force
Breaks down all the lies
And sets free the heart , the love and the cries

The candle inside -the Love of my life
So much more than a Savior
His essence abides

Jesus, Jesus
Love of my life
May Your heart know how I hunger for You tonight

DON’T HIDE YOUR GIFT

October 28, 2016

My dear friend I have a word
Especially for you
You have a purpose and a plan
I want to see you through

There is a gift inside of you
That others seem to know
And jealousy within them
Wants for you to go

But here I stand to cheer you on
It happens to us all
Don’t let the plans against you
Cause you to stop and fall

See it clearly for what it is
A plan to make you stop
Your gifting it comes from the Lord
Of course they’ll try to block

But if you raise up as you should
The truth will shine through you
A chance that they will get the truth
And see God loves them too

I pray a grit down in your soul
Will make you get so strong
That nothing else can stop you
You’ll stand where you belong

We need for all believers
To stand and take their place
The darkness getting deeper
We must all run the race

That thing that is inside you
Please choose not to ignore
The pleasure that awaits you
Is knocking at your door

I know it is quite scary
To go against the tide
But know that it’s your life not theirs
Don’t run away and hide

Seek the Master – know His will
From this you must not hide
There’s something He has put in you
Don’t bury it inside

MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT

October 26, 2016

Did you know that God prepared things for you to do during your life before you were ever born?

It’s true!! Look at this scripture carefully:

Ephesians 2:10
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Notice the words “prepared beforehand”. Do you know what they are for your life? Have you done any of them? If you are not certain….don’t despair…..you can start today. Here are instructions straight from God’s Word….

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Luke 11:10
“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

So you can seek God and find out in the word and in prayer what He wants you to do in His kingdom. For example (and there are hundreds in scripture) James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

It is important that we know what God is asking of us as individuals. God often will give us small tasks or projects or even tell you to call someone and encourage them. Don’t discount these small obediences. There is great reward each time we obey the Spirit of God’s promptings and His word.     For example: Mark 9:41
“For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”

So when we do things according to the Word, things the Bible instructs us to do and things the Holy Spirit leads us to do…..our work will remain and there will be a reward. It needs to be directed by God for your life. Then we will be building gold, silver and precious stones as opposed to wood, hay and straw which are works done in the flesh for wrong motives or wrong reasons. See this scripture below:

1 Corinthians 3:9-15  “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.  According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.  For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,  each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.  If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.  If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”

Now just to clarify……doing works will not save you……salvation is NOT by works.

Ephesians 2: 8,9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

BUT …..after you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior….He has some cool stuff for you to do that will bless you in this life and cause you to receive a reward laid up for you in heaven!!

Ephesians 5:15-17 “ See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,  redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

May God help us to see, know, and understand what He is asking each of us to do. And on a side note…..He loves when we are willing to do things in secret….just seen by Him when it is possible.

Matthew 6:4
“…that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.”

God bless you…..many of you already know these things…..but some have never heard this lesson from the Bible. I pray it will stir you up to be about the Master’s kingdom business. For He Himself longs to bless you and greatly desires for you to receive eternal rewards!!!

Much love,

Jean

DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH

October 24, 2016

Below is a song I wrote a decade ago, but seems so important at this critical time in our history. Enjoy! ( song can be found at cdbaby.com/cd/chamblee2) praying for revival!!!

DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FEAR OF GOD
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FRIGHT
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOLINESS
THAT USED TO BE SO RIGHT

HAS JEHOVAH CHANGED THAT MUCH
IS HE A DIFFERENT GOD?
WAS HE A CHAMELEON?
OR A TEMPORARY FACADE?

DON’T MESS DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH
DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH (CHORUS)

WHERE IS THE RIGHT AND WRONG?
GOT SWALLOWED IN THE HOLE
POLITICAL CORRECTNESS
SEEMS TO BE THE WORLDLY MOLD
ARE WE NOT THE CHURCH OF GOD
AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST?
MADE TO REPRESENT OUR LORD
AND LIVE OUT LOUD HIS LIFE

DON’T MESS DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH
DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH (CHORUS)

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US NOW?
MY HEART IS TORN IN TWO
SO CALLED GOSPEL PREACHED TODAY
IS FAR FROM BEING TRUE

JESUS THE MESSIAH KING
BRIGHT AND SHINING STAR
WORTHY OF OUR RESPECT
HOW DID WE FALL SO FAR?

DON’T MESS DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH
DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH (CHORUS)

BRING US LORD TO OUR KNEES
IN THIS OUR ONLY HOPE
REPENTANCE FROM OUR WORTHLESS DEEDS
RETURNING TO THE HEART

DID WE THINK THAT HE WON’T SEE?
THAT WE COULD HIDE OUR LIFE
DID WE THINK HE IS DECEIVED?
OUR DIETY OF LIGHT

DON’T MESS DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH
DON’T MESS WITH JEHOVAH (CHORUS)
