Experiencing God – yes you can!

So I have been thinking about you all that visit here on this WordPress site. I also am going to step up my prayers for you. Why? Because I know that you are called and appointed by God and destined to be here at this time in history. Yes, you!!! That is one of my all time favorite attributes of God. He shows favor to anyone He wants. Our acceptance by God is through us accepting what His Son came and did for us. Jesus makes us worthy to be in the kingdom of God – not our works – our belief.

Anyway – I want to help you if I can. I have been on a 40 year journey and have seen many miracles and encountered so much of the miraculous presence of God. I want you to open up an HOPE. That God wants to reveal Himself to you in some of the same ways He did in my life. The Bible says He is “no respecter of persons”. If you seek Him like I did you WILL get results far above what you could expect.

I pray you will read this little excerpt from my story and realize God has assignments for you too. I want to set this before you so you will know that God wants to do for this generation as He has done in the Book of Acts. Here is a modern day story from my little life that shows – God will show up for those who seek Him and desire to obey Him. So here it is:

ANGEL AT THE TIME CLOCK

Now I fully believed that we have angels working with us.  I had just never seen one with wings on the earth, until that day…

I went to work in the small little town of Greenville, North Carolina.  I worked at a place called S. & S. Cafeteria and it was located in the towns only mall. I drove the ten or fifteen miles to work with the radio on trying to get ready for another mundane day.  I arrived on time and began walking down the hallway towards the time clock to punch in. 

Out of the blue, for a moment,  my eyes were opened to the unseen realm.  The spirit realm.  Lo and behold right before my eyes, standing beside the time clock, was a beautiful giant angel.  He was tall, maybe ten feet or more,  and glistened like gold.  He had wings that reached to the ceiling and was so majestic looking.  It was not a frightening experience, but it startled me because it was so unexpected.  Then quickly, the vision closed, but I knew he was still there. I was aware of what the Bible teaches about the gifts of the Holy Spirit located in chapter 12 of the book of 1 Corinthians.  That at times when the Holy Spirit desires to, He can open your eyes so that you can see what is in the spirit realm, it’s called “discerning of spirits”,  and that is what I had experienced.

All day long I wondered what the Angel was there for.  Was he there to prevent an accident?  A robbery?  My mind danced around like crazy with curiosity!  Finally, I took my lunch break and sat down at the table with my Bible.  As I was eating and reading, a young man came and sat down abruptly across from me and looked me square in the eye.  He said, “I heard you were a Christian”  I said, “Yes I am.”

He excitedly said, “What must I do to get saved?”   Well, here it was!  I knew the Angel was there to see to it that this event took place.  There is no greater miracle than the new birth, to become what the Bible calls “born again”.   When someone accepts Christ and has their name written in the Book of Life.  After showing him some scripture and briefly explaining salvation, I prayed with the young man at the table to receive Jesus as his Lord.   I also asked him to meet me after work to talk about the baptism in the Holy Spirit which he was excited to do! I figured he needed the whole package!

The young man did meet me in the parking lot after work and received the baptism.  It was incredible.  I felt like I was living in the Book of Acts!  The Holy Spirit descended on him and he was filled with God’s presence and spoke in tongues right there in the parking lot!  Never think God is limited to a church for a holy experience to take place!  The whole earth is filled with His glory!

  I knew that this had been a divine appointment. A special one because God allowed me to see the presence of the Angel, although they are surrounding us in the spirit realm all the time, especially if we are believers.  This man’s life was now transformed.  I don’t remember his name, but I saw him a year or so later and he said he was going to Bible school to be a minister. He wanted to be a Pastor.  I knew God was taking good care of him and it was a blessing to have been allowed to take part in his journey.

How cool to think of the angels involvement in our lives.  All going on around us in the unseen realm!  They are around you too!  The more we pray and walk in faith….the more they are activated around us!

Hebrews 13:2  “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11   “ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,  to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

WASHINGTON D.C. WILL GOD SPARE THE NATION- GIVE US MORE TIME?

I know many of us are worried about the coming election.  But I want to share something with you.   On Saturday, September 26th,  we went to Washington D. C.  To join a Day of Prayer and Repentance called “The Return” with Johnathan Cahn coordinating it.

It was just that.  Around 75,000 people stood and knelt on the ground weeping and repenting for the sins of the nation ,  listing many of them one by one.  Yes it took hours.  And it was awesome and so right.  The unity of the body of Christ and the Presence of God among us was palpable.  

It went from 9a.m. to 9p.m.  and it was not tiring at all, but life giving.  You could feel it.  This is what God has wanted us to do for a long time.  Another group was simultaneously doing a prayer walk around D.C. with Franklin Graham.   When it was over – I wondered.  Was this enough?  To stay the hand of judgement and procure from God’s hand a little more time to turn this nation around?  It would have only taken 10 righteous for God to spare Sodom and Gomorrah. (Genesis 18).  Was this enough for a nation of 330 million?

Then a month later another group of mainly young people filled the national Mall again and worshipped and prayed for four hours and then walked all around praying and worshipping at different sites in D.C.   And we saw a victory with a pro life supreme court justice sworn in the next day.  That gives me hope.

Now another group of believers will gather and pray at the end of October.  People have been traveling from all over the United States to join in these gatherings.  And there were over 12 million joining online for ‘The Return”. Plus millions around the world joining  in livestream and praying for America.

Only God knows what He will do.  But for the first time in a long time,  I have hope that God may grant us more time for revival if we will continue and not stop after the election.  The church is out of the building and in part we need to keep it that way and not retreat into a mindset of  four walls and only individual programs.  

There needs to be unifying events like these.  A Body of Christ that will rise up and fight against the darkness and lawlessness of the age.  A Body that will pray and fast and seek His face until a great awakening and harvest of souls comes full throttle into our land.

It was so beautiful to be with believers of all walks of life.  The unity of purpose was incredible.  It felt like we were experiencing the answer to Jesus prayer in John 17:22.  when He prayed that we would be “one” as they are “One”.   I saw Amish, Baptist, Messianics, Pentecostals, and probably most denominations were represented among us.  All that was secondary – we were there for Jesus.  To do His will.  To cry out for our nation.  

I pray it continues and grows.  May God bless this land of ours and a harvest of souls come into the kingdom of God!  

WHEN GOD BUSTS OUT IN THE MOST UNUSUAL PLACES

Sometimes you just never know when God is gonna just break out somewhere.  You’ve been there – when you suddenly feel God is in the place.  

Well I was sitting in a small room with about 10 other people at the cardiologist office waiting for a stress test. (to see if the ticker is working right)

Not something I looked forward to and besides that why in the world did they say it would take four hours. And what’s with the “nuclear” part of the test?

I was  uneasy in the way that you are when there are a lot of unknowns.  I noticed that most everyone was looking at their phones or magazine with only minimal conversation between people and the ones that came with them.   Then I asked a lady what the test was like.  She was older, but I could tell she brightened up at the opportunity to share some wisdom.  She walked me through it and a few others chimed in with their additions to the knowledge I was getting.  It was sweet!  

All of the sudden, everyone in the room started talking to others.  At times the whole room was participating in one group conversation.  A far cry from the isolationist feel it had when I walked in.  I could feel the Holy Spirit moving.  I love it when He shows up outside of church and does a suddenly.

One of the ladies began to share her heart about having had several heart attacks and possibly cancer.  The weight and burden on her face made me want to cry.  I knew that God wanted to lift her burden, especially her.  

So most of the room cleared out and I began to tell her of my near death experience as a teenager.  I saw heaven and was describing what I saw.  I could see a familiar peace come on her.  I knew that she already knew the Lord, but she leaned in towards me as if to soak up the words of truth.  A reminder of what she already knew in part.  I pulled out a Closer cd that I had made a decade ago and gave it to her and she was excited.  Her countenance changed and her mother began to talk about a revival she had been to in her past.  It was an easy conversation, and you could almost see how much lighter the room was as well as these “family” members in the body of Christ.  I got called out for the test and wish I could have prayed with her – but she got something better I think. She remembered to Whom she belonged.

I don’t know.  I just love when that happens.  I know prayer helps them happen – but sometimes God just busts out!!!  I can’t wait till the next time and I think I will ask for more!  How about you!?

HE WHISPERS

So today is an especially sweet day. I woke up this morning hearing in my head the phrase “I love you to the moon and back”. I wondered if that thought could have been from God? Would He use a common human phrase to communicate with me? And for Him the moon is not very far or big. Haha

Just waking up I wasn’t thinking with my spirit but was just in my head!! So I dismissed it without much thought. Then later I finally got around to doing something the Lord had asked me to do, and that was to mail my book to an old friend. I had been putting it off because I couldn’t find an envelope, but the Lord patiently waited. I put the dollar stamps on it which were in the shape of a moon and proceeded to the mailbox. I knew God was happy about my obeying Him and following through on this. Then I looked up and on the mailbox was a beautiful bluebird. I thought to myself “bluebird of happiness”,which was a phrase I had heard in a movie. Then it dawned on me that God had put the bluebird there as a sign to me that I was making Him happy by doing what He had asked.

Then quickly in my minds eye or spirits eye to be more accurate; I saw a visual of the Father picking me up and joyfully swinging me around in His arms like a little girl. Wow. I was really having a divine encounter all morning and it was so subtle I could have missed it, but thankful I didn’t. I knew God was communicating. Then I walked back in the house and picked up the stamps. The stamps were a picture of the moon! To the moon and back!! Right in my face. I love you to the moon and back! Then again, I looked out the kitchen window and the bluebird was sitting on the wire in the 20 plus wind gusts we’re having today and holding on as if to wait for me to see it, then it jumped off.

Wow again. I could have missed this all. It started with a subtle “I love you to the moon and back” thought as I woke up. How amazing is God!!! He truly does communicate with us . Are we listening? Do we miss the thoughts He sends our way? Are we awake enough to recognize Him. We certainly can be and He will help us if we ask! He has so much joy in us. We make Him happy! You make Him happy! He made you and has a dream for your life. I hope this inspires you to actively “listen” with your spiritual eyes and ears as well as the other. He whispers, but He is full of love for you. Receive it! Hope you have an awesome day!

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Just the other day I met a little girl in our neighborhood. She is in the first grade. We began to talk and my heart broke when I mentioned heaven. She had never heard of heaven and knew almost nothing about God. I think we forget…..if people have not heard …..they don’t know!!

I was thinking of another girl I met on a plane. She was a chiropractic school graduate and as we talked, she began to reveal that she had gotten her belief system from a fiction book she had read. She knew almost nothing about Jesus and what she did “think” she knew was skewed.

They are all around us, and we cannot stay silent! Here is why…..Romans 10:14
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

Now you may not think of yourself as a preacher…..but if you are a Christian…..you have at least a testimony and some truth. A testimony of how Jesus changed your life is powerful and personal. We must not stay silent.

I prayed about the little girl and got a book on heaven called “Heaven is Real for children” We sat on the swing and she read that book at least a half dozen times. I have peace that now she knows. She stated that she believes in Jesus now and I hope it will carry over throughout her life and pray that it does.

I think my first touch of God’s love and presence, that had an impact, came from a woman that cleaned our house once a week. She hid tootsie rolls in her pockets and would slip them to me. I don’t remember how she said it….but I knew that she knew Jesus. I felt so much love from her. The rest of the world was busy…..but I knew this lady named Willie, “saw” me. I felt important to her. What powerful characteristics of God she showed me with her quiet gentle ways and tangible love. She prayed for me too. I got a card from her when I graduated High School, long after she had retired from her work. Maybe no one but me and God saw it. But that lady was a powerful witness.

May God open our eyes to see the opportunities and give us the boldness to speak and testify. Look….you don’t even have to be a churchgoer to tell folks what you have experienced with Jesus. You don’t need a degree or special language. Just ask the Holy Spirit to open the conversation up and help you. His answer is “Yes”! And your efforts will have eternal value for you and whoever you speak to. God help us not be silent. Only through You can we obey your command to preach the gospel to everyone. These days are moving by so quickly…..

Well that’s my two cents and the burden on my own heart. I have such a powerful testimony and I have let discouragement and resistance cause me to hold back many times. May God forgive me and open doors and empower me to keep going. Thanks for your prayers as well! 🙂 Love you all and have a great day. Look for that Divine Appointment…..they are all around.

SECRETS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN SEEKING INTIMACY WITH GOD…

In my experience and opinion…..there’s nothing like a deed done in secret that only your Creator, heavenly Father, Lord and Savior sees…..in my 37 years of having a relationship with God…..nothing has brought me closer than a secret.

“It’s a prayer in an empty room
Little things we do when nobody’s around
A hand reaching out
To a heart in doubt
It’s the smallest spark

Matthew 6:6    “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

A KIND WORD FOR ANYONE DEALING WITH SELF CONDEMNATION:

The devil is really good about bringing up our past and rubbing our noses in it and he is even better at spinning the lie that you can’t turn things around in your life. BUT God is good at helping us get back up on our feet and He delights to see us come through things and reach the other side. Check out these great scriptures:

Psalm 25:6,7 “Remember, O lord, Your tender mercies and Your loving kindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions, according to Your mercy remember me. For Your goodness sake, Oh Lord.”

Isaiah 54:8
“With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,”
Says the Lord, your Redeemer.”

There is always a fresh start with Jesus…His mercies are new every morning. Never buy into the lie that you have gone too far or that God could not forgive you, or that you have gone too far into darkness to be set free. That’s a lie. God is not that way. But don’t wait…..call on Him while He may be found. Let Him nourish your broken heart back into sweet fellowship with Him. “He is near to the broken hearted” Stop being so hard on yourself too. Forgiving yourself can be really hard…..but God wants you to do just that and remember that He casts our sins away as far as the east is to the west. I pray that you will allow Him to love you…..allow Him back in to that tender place with you and let Him heal your wounds, because that is exactly what He wants to do. Rom. 8:31 “If God is FOR US, who can be against us?”  Take what He is offering! Forgiveness!!

On the wall

Mysteries
Unfold to me
Showing me
What soon will be

Sometimes stories
Of my past
Explains things that
I could not grasp

Forward, backward
All between
You talk to me Lord
In my dreams

Showing me
Just how You feel
Bringing forth
Some things so real

Until I know You
I can’t see
Your loving kindness
Good thoughts towards me

Love so deep
Denied in life
But meant to be

Pour out Your Spirit

QUIET TIMES – Poetry

Calmly walking by the bay
The mist is rising up
It crests the rocks and scatters ‘round
And peace, it fills my cup

As I walk and seek You
Silent and alone
My soul it lifts to meet You
My heart lifts to Your throne

Standing in your presence
Your warmth shines on my face
Just as real as earth is
I’m home here in this place

These moments are so holy
Sweet and set apart
As I see reflections face
Your love it fills my heart

Solid our connection
Fruitful are Your words
As they speak into my soul
My place with You assured

Don’t let it break away now
As I enter back inside
A place in our society

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

See past the darkness of the hour….a candle is not afraid of the dark! That is where it shines the brightest. What does Jesus say?

“Jesus said, “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest” (John 4:35-36)!

There will be a great end time harvest…..I pray we all choose to be a part! Partner with what God is doing in the earth. Agree with righteousness, holiness, love, and peace as given through the Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ! This can be our finest hour! Is God calling you into public service? Don’t doubt this. All servants of God do not stand in a pulpit….but God does have places of leadership for those that walk coherently with His Kingdom purposes.

We all as the body of Christ need to pray daily for “HIs kingdom to come…His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Amen   I pray God stirs our hearts and guides us to our part in HIs end time purposes. And He has one for each and every one of us….we were born for such a time as this! (even a Girl Scout leader can impact a generation for good)    Be willing to think outside of the church and outside of the box to impact our world….may we engage the culture….not withdraw from it!   Love to you all!
