A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

It is easy to let our thoughts get away from us. We all have “inner” conversations with ourselves or “self talk”. Whether we take control of this aspect of life can make or break us.

We can accept or reject the thoughts that come into our heads. We can actively change what we are thinking to a more healthy “self message”. If we don’t our enemy will.

The apostle Paul tells us how… 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

We can defeat ourselves and oppose ourselves if we don’t practice this taking responsibility for our thoughts. God is for us and not against us. As we meditate on His word and ask God to give us His thoughts on the matter. Our “ship” will sail in kinder waters, more peaceful, and feeling loved.

That’s what our Father wants for us. To know we are loved by Him and to draw near. He will help us.

Meditate on His Words. Romans 8:31 “If God is for us, Who can be against us” “Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.” “I am accepted in the Beloved” “Whoever believes in Him (Jesus) will not perish, but have everlasting life.” “I am my Beloveds and He is mine” “He who dwells in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of His wings.” and so much more! You are loved.

Resist the devil (and his thoughts) and he will flee from you.
(James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”) Have a great day!

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

A word about dreams.  We most likely all have them.  Some we remember and most we don’t.  They serve a purpose we are told by science that when we reach REM sleep it is restorative sleep.  But is there more?

We see in the Bible that around fifty times God spoke or sent messages to people through dreams and visions.  So yes, to the question if they can be more than a biochemical benefit to only our bodies.

In my studies I have found that Dreams come from 3 places.  1. Soul (mind, will, emotions)  2. God  (Acts 2, Joel 2  ..old, young will dream and have visions)  3. Devil  (Luke 4 : Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.”)

We have to be able to judge/analyze them to know where they come from.  It is up to us to accept or reject them.  Certainly the ones from the devil contain fear and torment, failure and dread.  Those we can just toss.

The ones from God always have a message in line with HIs character and His Word.  Sometimes He may reveal the future, warn us of something,  or just invite us into a relationship of seeking and finding.  He loves to interact with us.  It’s sad that most people don’t know that. God made us because He wanted us to be family and have a relationship with HIm.

Thirdly, our souls, or mind, will, and emotions.  You will notice elements of your daily life, a movie you watched, problem you are experiencing etc.  Just normal dreams.

I could go further…..but if you would like to dig deeper you can go to JeanChamblee.com  and find the link to my youtube channel where I do 9 short Biblical teachings on Dreams and Visions.   Enjoy and Have a great day!

Transitions.  Usually they are never easy.  Even in childbirth the “transition”  part is the hardest, but when it is over something “new” is born.  Many people I know are in a transition period in life.  Where things can change rapidly.  It can get unnerving or down right scary.  But we can alway trust that God never leaves us nor forsakes His children; though you may not see Him at work right now. He is.  This is where we take a deep breath and trust.

In 1980, the year I really surrendered my life to God, was a HUGE transition.  The whole trajectory of my life changed and I did not have a blueprint!  I was thrilled with a fresh and living relationship with the Lord, but so much was changing.

One day I was standing by the Tar River in the Town Commons park.  I was looking at the water and observing a stick floating along with the current.  As I watched it, I heard the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart.  “One day you will be like that in my hands, flowing, not fighting the current or trying to go your own way, but trusting Me.”   That  sounded awesome.  I certainly wanted that.

Many years later I wrote a song called  “Be Like Water”  to remember the lesson.  It’s a fun little song and I hope you have a minute to listen and let the Holy Spirit speak into your life about what area you need to trust Him and just “let it flow, let it go.”  He is faithful and loves you so much!

May we trust Him in this season without a blueprint.  And know that He is the river that will carry us!    Blessings!   Hope you have a great day!

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Sometimes it’s easy to be going through life and forget that we, as Christ followers, have an enemy. And a crafty one at that. Look how he deceived Eve to commit the very first act of disobedience. But how beautiful that so quickly the Father came with a plan to “undo” what was done. He would send His only begotten Son (Jesus is the only human whose biological father (seed) was God) It was at a great cost that He fulfilled the legal price to purchase our freedom and entrance into the kingdom of God.

Anyway my point for the day is that Lucifer – who rebelled against God and desired to become God himself . Since he can’t overthrow God, he longs to cause God’s beloved creation (you and me) harm and pain. He goes before God and accuses us day and night. Check out this scripture….
Revelation 12:10
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the ACCUSER OF OUR BRETHREN, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
Yay! That day is coming and was foretold to the apostle John so we would know it is coming.

How does he accuse us? Many times in our thoughts and sometimes through others that won’t let go of our past, or hunt for any faults and failures in us.

You see when we mess up and ask God for forgiveness and do our best to change….. the Bible says that He throws our sins as far as the east is to the west. He remembers them no more.

Psalm 103: 12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

He is not ever the one “beating us up” in our thoughts about our past. That is coming from Satan …..our “accuser”. So if you are being tormented by accusations by people or from thoughts. Cast them down (thoughts/words) and resist accepting them if you have dealt with it before God. Satan and sometimes people want to hold you in prison to your past mistakes. Don’t let them.

For you are a new creation in Christ Jesus when you accept Him as Lord. Don’t let yourself be beaten up for something in your past. Remember God is for us and not against us! (Romans 8:31)

It is for Freedom that Christ has set us free. Have a great day – Shalom
