Painful past
Mistakes made
Can’t change
The path was laid

Ironclad grip
Pulling down
Crying out
In tears drowned

Spinning round
A sinking ship
Life’s a mess
Can’t get a grip

What if there
Was really a way
A gift for you
A completely clean slate

If you can get past
Prejudices made
Open your mind
The price was paid

Forget religion
Not what it’s about
Embrace the Truth
That will let you cry out

Forget the steeple
The Easter parade
Jesus is deep
It’s no charade

The blood He shed
Is no laughing matter
Such a shame He’s been treated
With a light hearted manner

Love so deep
Heart so good
He gave it for you
He shed His own blood

So you could have
Another chance
Get free from your past
Set free to dance

Dance a new life
Leave the old behind
Take hold of His hand
He will take off the blinds

That’s right it’s a kick
Jesus is the Way
You’ve heard it all along
Thought it was a cliche’

Don’t need to be religious
To talk to the One
That loves you so much
Had me write this sweet poem

A CLEAN, BLANK SLATE…YES IT CAN BE YOURS!!!

Doesn’t the title just give you a good feeling?!! A wishing inside that we could all at some point in our lives start over? A new beginning? A better than great “do-over”?

Of course. We’ve all screwed up royally at some point. God knew that. Before He made us He knew all that we could and would do. He has foreknowledge. He knows the beginning from the end.

Isaiah 46:9-11

“Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,

Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,’”

So if God already knew what we would do before we ever did it…..then why does He still love us? Because His love is far greater than you and I can understand. His desire for a family (us) was far deeper in Him than our mistakes could ever take us. That is why Jesus came and paid the price for our sins. He made a way for us to get a blank slate. For real!!! Isn’t that good news? I think the “good news of the gospel” has gotten buried somewhere under a lot of religion.

Now this doesn’t mean that we are free to be lawless, but it is not a permanent condemnation if we come to Christ and “get honest with Him” about what ever it is we have done to royally screw up. We’ve hurt people….we’ve hurt ourselves. God wants to forgive all that and cleanse us from all of it’s effects. He will get all that junk out of us and lead us down a path that won’t hurt us. He is wise and He understands how things work in this kingdom He created.

Can we trust Him? Trust is hard for many because we have seen so many messed up churches and christians, but we can’t let that deter us from meeting the real Jesus. And THAT Jesus proved His great passion and love by laying down His life and suffering a horrible death to show us how serious He was about wanting us and getting us back from the bondage that sin brought upon us.

Romans 3:23 “… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Like it or not we are all in the same boat…..we all need a chance at a “clean, blank, slate” in our lives many times over and He has provided a way for us to have that. He never intended us to be captured by our sins, the flesh or the devil. He is about our freedom.

1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Now let me make that “confess our sins” a little less religious and a little more understandable. He just wants us to be honest about whatever it is that we did to violate our consciences (that inner knowing of right and wrong) It can eat at us and we don’t even know exactly what it came from. Hey…..God is all about communication ….you have no idea how much He wants to communicate with you. YOU. Let that sink in. There is only one you ever created. Only you can give to God what He created you for. It’s kind of like a treasure hunt. You have to seek out your purpose and seek out your purpose Giver!! Only God knows why you were created. Why look anywhere else???

Romans 10:10-13 “ For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation.
For the Scriptures tell us that no one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed. Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect: they all have the same Lord who generously gives his riches to all those who ask him for them. Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) will be saved. (Living Bible)

So how to get a blank slate? Believe in Jesus Christ that He is who He said He is, paid our price for a blank slate, and just simply requires our honesty with Him when we blow it. He will then help us walk away from whatever sin has caused us or others harm. (I highly recommend you seek out the Baptism in the Holy Spirit too …..He will freely give you extra power to walk in this life with lots of help …Luke 11:9-13) ( also explanation found on Youtube…. “How do I receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit’….Jean Chamblee….Passing the Torch #14)

Anyway……I pray you seek Him out and get that clean, blank, slate and watch your past no longer control your future. That’s true freedom and only Jesus Christ can give it to you and the awesome thing…..HE WANTS TO!!!! This isn’t religion…..it’s relationship with the one that made you. Go for it. Seek and you shall find!!!

A Thought For The Day – Destiny and Reward

Sometimes I think we forget that there is a reward in heaven for all those that run the race as God has laid out in His word. Take a moment to read the scripture below:

2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”

I hope you will read that scripture over a few times and let it sink in. We each have a predestined race to run. We each have a unique destiny to fulfill. Will you search for yours?

Romans 12:4,5 “For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”

How do you find your destiny? Only one way….seek the One that created you. Only He knows your purpose.

Isaiah 55:6,7 “Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.”

The rewards we lay up for ourselves will go with us into eternity. Why fight the good fight of faith? It pleases our heavenly Father who desires for all His children to be overcomers and receive the rewards He desires to give. Yes, we battle the world, the flesh, and the devil, but it is so worth it and Jesus paid such a price for us to have His grace to overcome….. May the lives we live, be lived to Honor Him!

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Remember….it is not just your works and/or behavior that God wants dedicated to Him……HE WANTS YOU! Your time, your thoughts, you love and affection. YOU.
I truly think He misses us when we get too busy for Him. He created only one you. No one can give Him what you have….there is only one you!!! And He created you because He wanted you to choose to be with Him.

The Bible tells us He is a jealous God…… He truly relates our relationship to Him as a bride with her groom. Ponder that. That is intense love!!! New love….. being “in love”. Everything He created on earth was to help us understand aspects of Him that He needs us to understand.

Romans 1:20 “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

Psalm 73: 27,28
But it is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,
That I may declare all Your works.
For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish;
You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry.

James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

WHEN HEAVEN INVADES EARTH
Just had to give this testimony! So many in the body of Christ have ceased to press in to the things of God and the fire of God is falling again and He is ready and waiting for us to press in!! I will give you an example. Ed and I went to a “Heaven on Earth” conference (nothing “magic” about the conference….just a group truly seeking the face of God) and we spent time praying for hours before we got there on the drive up, hearing preaching and then hours in worship and in prayer at the alter with other believers. We were filled with His Presence and surrounded by God’s glory. HIS glory…..nothing of man.
Then on the drive home we stopped at a rest stop for a bathroom break. And I kid you not……this 20 year old walks up to me and says they don’t have enough gas money to get home and could I help out……DIVINE APPOINTMENT….I just smiled and said “Come to my car”. We started talking about the conference and God and his eyes were wide open and excited! I handed him a $20 and gave him a book and some Christian music CD’s and the Spirit of God was just exploding in that little parking lot…..mind you there were 4 other young people in the car watching all this. Then…..right then. A car pulls up beside ours and the guy rolled down the window and said “Mam…..I’m so embarrassed to ask this….but I’m almost out of gas….!!! Hallelujah!! God Himself was just bringing them to us!!!! So we pulled out some more cash and started telling him about God, the conference, and gave him a salvation tract and Christian music CD’s and I could just feel that glory that was present at the alter…..present in the parking lot and that God had hand picked these people to experience the Living God!!!
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we will see some of them in heaven because of Jesus Christ invading their lives!!! And we get to be a part of all that if we will lay down the things of this world and seek and hunger for God above all else. This is the hour…….this is the day. God is NO respecter of persons……He does not show favoritism ……what He does for one He will do for another. Are you willing to pay the price? To press in to God and experience heaven on earth!!! We were created to be “Living in the Book Of Acts”!! Oh how I pray that we will not miss it! It will not come again….I truly believe we are entering into the last great harvest before the great and terrible Day of the Lord. I pray that you will hunger and thirst for a relationship with JESUS CHRIST like you have never experienced before!! HE LOVES YOU WITH A PASSION THAT CAN ONLY BE UNDERSTOOD BY EXPERIENCING IT! By pressing in to Him. By getting alone with Him. By hungering and thirsting after Him above all else!! There is a love deeper and more fulfilling than you could have ever imagined!!! He is waiting for you……to love you! TO LOVE YOU!!! You are His unique and precious creation…..there is only one you…..and He wants you! He wants to love you! He wants to take you deeper in relationship with Him. Will you let HIM? He is waiting….. One step at a time. I pray you will take just one step closer to Him today…..one conversation…..one prayer……one block of time you give just to HIM. He died for you and He is worthy. Go for it…..don’t worry about tomorrow. You don’t have to live up to anyones expectations or be like anyone else. Let Him make you who YOU were created to be. We ALL are pieces of the puzzle…..the body. Different and so totally a creative work of God…. He loves YOU!!!! Wants YOU!! Passionately desires your love and your fellowship. See how great a price He paid to demonstrate His love…… I pray with all my heart you will take a step closer to Him today!
Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.”
…..heaven is not something you have to wait for….heaven is in Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God.
